In March of 2018, Softvision hosted a panel at the Retail Innovation Lounge at SXSW in Austin, TX. Among other innovation thought leaders, we had the chance to interview Jake Annear, Manager of Content and Innovation at Moet Hennessy USA.

During our interview, Jake revealed the company is testing voice technology as a means of consumer interaction.

We think voice is kind of an interesting way we can educate people about the power of champagne or the power of our spirits portfolio to really drive deeper engagement.”

But the luxury spirits brand is taking their time to learn the rules of engagement. According to Jake, Moet Hennessy is “intentionally slow to move [on voice], because we want to see how these technologies play out for consumer interaction.”

Jake goes on, “we’re not just gonna jump on a trend, because it’s the hottest thing available now. We need to see that it has real long-term implications.”
