NRF 2019 Highlights

This past January, Cognizant Softvision attended and participated in NRF 2019 in New York, NY. NRF is the world’s largest retail conference and expo, which gathers around 36,500 professionals from around the globe. Held annually over the course of three days, the audience and exhibitors benefit from ideas, relationships, experiences and insights from some of today’s most influential industry leaders.

In 2019, Cognizant Softvision took part in the event as an exhibitor, offering demos to explore new forms of consumer engagement through interactive, immersive experiences.

EXHIBIT: THE FUTURE OF RETAIL
Our exhibit was designed to look like a retail store, featuring three hyper-personalized, interactive consumer experiences aligned to grocery/wellness, beauty and fashion. The demos were a big hit as visitors were delighted and impressed.

RETAIL INNOVATION SHOWCASE
Future of Grocery: This demo featured the “Food Aisle,” an in-store interaction point that uses DNA synthesis to understands customers’ bodies and make healthy, personalized diet suggestions.

Future of Beauty: This demo featured an interactive vanity called the “Looking Glass.” The vanity uses questionnaire and AI facial scanning to understand customers’ skin or order to generate a personalized serum recipe that is blended on the spot, and packaged in a branded bottle for visitors to take home with them.

The Future of Fashion: This demo featured the “Intelligent Fitting Room,” which integrated physical and digital elements to provide a concierge-like experience to in-store consumers, including a full-length smart mirror brought to life through a virtual assistant.

NIKE EXPERIENCE EVENT
Co-Hosted by Adobe, Microsoft and Cognizant

Cognizant co-hosted a networking event, along with Adobe and Microsoft, at the Nike Store in Soho, Manhattan. Over 75 retailers attended this exclusive, sold-out event. Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, received a private tour of the Nike store, and designed their own shoes. This was a great event that displayed the close partnership across our three companies.

COGNIZANT SOFTVISION & APPLE BREAKFAST
Cognizant Softvision and Apple co-hosted a breakfast meeting at La Pecora Bianca for approximately 20 attendees, including leading retailers.  

We look forward to next year’s conference, January 12-14 at the Javits Center in New York.
